Acts of Magic: A Worldbuilding Workshop

In this generative workshop, you are both artist and architect, bringing a new world to life from your imagination, imbuing it with a touch of magic, and populating it with unique characters. First, you'll create on a grand scale, inventing your own fantasy settings rich with detail through a series of prompts, creative exercises, and even optional extra twists and challenges designed to ward off writer’s block. Then, you'll create in miniature by placing a character inside your world and discovering what happens when they move through it.

Cody Klippenstein
Cody Klippenstein is a writer of fiction. Her work has been featured in Zoetrope: All-Story and The Fiddlehead as short story contest winners and has also appeared in Epoch, The Malahat Review, Room, and elsewhere. At present, she lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she teaches in the Creative Writing Programs at Hamline University and is at work on a fantasy novel. She received an MFA from Cornell University.
